TRI- COMMUNITY
ANGLERS ASSOCIATION
The
Tri-Community Anglers Association (TCAA) stocks trout in 6 miles of Piney Fork
and Peters Creeks which run through South
Park Township, Jefferson Boro and the City
of Clairton. In addition the TCAA and its members are working to
clean up the banks of Piney Fork and Peters
Creek to improve the aesthetic quality of the stream as well
as remain vigilant of government and industrial projects which may jeopardize
the water quality and endanger the aquatic life in the stream.
Meetings
The TCAA holds meeting on the
second Monday of the month (8:00 P.M.)
at the American Legion Post 75, located on Miller Ave. in Clairton, PA.
Fishing in Peters Creek
- To
fish in Peters Creek a valid Pennsylvania Fishing License is required.
- To
remove trout from Peters Creek a valid Pennsylvania Trout Stamp is required.
- All
Pennsylvania Fish Commission rules and regulations apply (except that the
creek is open to trout fishing all year round.)
- Please
take with you only those trout you will eat and return all others to the
water. The TCAA encourages you to return all trout to the water.
- If
you are planning to return the fish you catch to the water use barbless hooks. If you do not have barbless
hooks, file down or use pliers to push the barbs down to the shank of the
hook. Do not overplay fish, handle gently and quickly remove the hook
(have pliers handy if needed). Return the fish to the water as soon as
possible.
